Privacy Policy

HangarScope ("we," "us") operates the HangarScope application. We are the data controller. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing.

Information we collect

When you create an account and use HangarScope, we collect:

• Account information — email address, display name, and authentication credentials managed by Google Firebase Authentication.
• Aircraft data — registration numbers, make, model, year, and engine specifications you provide or that we look up from public FAA registry records.
• Uploaded files — engine monitor logs, flight track files, oil analysis reports, maintenance documents, and other files you upload. We store the original files and data we extract from them (flight routes, engine parameters, oil wear-metal values, GPS tracks).
• Usage data — IP address, browser type, and timestamps of requests, collected automatically for security and abuse prevention.

How we use it

• Provide, operate, and improve the service.
• Parse and analyze your uploaded files to generate flight summaries, engine-health findings, and oil-trend data.
• Enforce usage limits (storage quota, aircraft limits) associated with your account tier.
• Communicate with you about your account or the service (transactional messages only — no marketing without separate consent).

Service providers

We use Google Cloud Platform to host the application, store files, and run the database. Google Firebase provides authentication. Stripe processes subscription payments for paid tiers. Resend delivers transactional and product-update email (account messages, data-export notifications, billing receipts). These providers process your data on our behalf under their standard data-processing terms. Your data may be stored in the United States. No other third parties receive your data.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile page — this permanently removes your account, all uploaded files, and all derived data (flights, oil analyses, documents). Deletion is irreversible and begins immediately.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information as defined under California law. HangarScope is not directed at children under 16. To exercise any right, email privacy@hangarscope.com; we respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify you by email before the change takes effect.
